The new generation of the Abu Garcia Veritas fishing rod series has been released in 2024. The upgrade in this current model is known as the 5.0 series (fifth generation). Abu aimed to develop a fishing rod with all of the iconic actions and characteristics that anglers have grown to appreciate in the Veritas range while remaining at an accessible price level.

Veritas 5.0 is a continuation of the classic, classy white design seen in all prior model series and is constructed with superior Fuji tangle-resistant components. The Abu Garcia Veritas Rods 5.0 range is based on a 30-ton extra high-density graphite blank to maximize casting performance, sensitivity, and strength. The rods are finished off with comfortable ergonomic closed cell EVA handles for maximum transmission of sensitivity.

The Abu Garcia Veritas Fishing Rods 5.0 series is available at the Fishing Tackle Shop in Four distinct styles: spin, baitcasting, travel and Jig. There are multiple options in light spin for bass, trout and bream to rods suitable for heavier inshore fish such as cod, barra and mulloway. Light – Medium River and Lake models (spin) In this category of fishing rods for sale, we start with the model 702L, which is rated 2-4kg and is our top selling model for those who fish in lakes and rivers for all typical species such as flathead, bream, and whiting in saltwater then Australian bass, trout, and perch in freshwater. If you want to go all out, Models 682ML and 702M are the models to consider purchasing. Their line ratings are the next level up, implying that if you’re not yet comfortable using finesse line classes in lakes and rivers, these models are ideal for you. For those that target slightly larger fresh and saltwater fish species such as bigger yellowbelly perch, school lake jewfish, flathead over 60cm, and any other fish that provides a little more curry over your traditional light class fish, they’re ideal. These few rods also make an ideal choice for anglers that fish offshore where the water isn’t too deep and you have a desire to fish ultra-light offshore.

Heavier Spin Models – The Veritas 732H and the 702XH are two good options for those who prefer to fish heavy spin gear. Both of these models are from a heavier category and are built to take on such species such as cod, barra, kingfish, big salmon, tailor, snapper, and other coastal and offshore denizens.

Rock and Beach Fishing Models – The Veritas 932 rod is a fantastic option if you fish the rocks and spin lures on one rod. The ideal size for shore spinning is this 9ft 3-inch length Veritas 932 rod, which is perfect for targeting kingfish, bonito, Australian salmon, tailor, cobia, and a variety of other sport fish.
